HOST A SHOW!
Miss Rainsong and Her Traveling Companion is now booking for future performances. A pre-pandemic run of house shows in the creator's home confirmed that the portable technology Ross Martin created so he could run the lights and audio for the show from the stage is ready for the road! Now that COVID is no longer dominating our lives, we can all start enjoying live performances again.
Miss Rainsong is an intimate show and is well-suited for house concert venues, black box theatres, and even unconventional spaces. Ross has created a platform for the show that allows him to pull up to any venue with seats and power and have the show ready for curtain in under an hour. He even has a portable LiPo power station (a really big battery) that can run the show off the grid.
Ross is ready to share this magical experience with audiences of 25 or more. For house concerts, a suggested donation is $20 per person. If you have a particular charity you would like to support, Ross will work with you to make sure that up to half of the proceeds go to your charity. Contact rainsong@ACMImimi.org for more information.
This show started as the backstory for a character Ross played in an ArtStream production in 2009 for which he wrote the music. It took almost 10 years before the show's early vision was realized the form of a one-act workshop version in August 2017. That went well enough to encourage the folks at the One World Coffeehouse in Columbia, Maryland to book the world premiere in January 2018. About that same time it was selected as one of six works for the 2nd Annual Florida Festival of New Musicals at the Winter Park Playhouse in Winter Park, Florida in August 2018. Ross and Dolly -- the RainSong carbon fiber guitar that plays the title role of Miss Isabella Rainsong -- have completed their 19th performance and look forward to many more.
