Miss Isabella Rainsong and Her Traveling Companion will take you on an unforgettable journey

You will board this two-act, original acoustic musical in a Berkeley Springs, WV Amtrak train station. A threatening storm keeps you holed up in the station while it passes. A wayward Traveler helps you pass the time by sharing the story of his three-year journey all across America with Miss Isabella Rainsong – a captivatingly beautiful black guitar.

Created and performed by Ross Martin, Miss Isabella Rainsong and Her Traveling Companion: A One-Guitar Show had its world premiere on January 20th, 2018 in Columbia, Maryland. It was selected for the Florida Festival of New Musicals, where it was presented in a one-act version August 23-25, 2018. Ross has performed the show more than two dozen times along with his co-star, Dolly, his David Wilcox Limited Edition RainSong guitar, who plays the role of Miss Rainsong.

There are some exciting additions to this performance, including some new audio backing tracks and some technical wizardry that Ross has designed to run the entire show -- including audio and lighting cues -- from the stage using an Arduino micropocessor built into his guitar! See the Miss Rainsong blog for more details.

About the Creator

Ross Martin (Book, Lyrics, & Music) started singing about the same time he started talking and added the guitar when it seemed his only option for impressing girls. He grew up doing community and school theater and choirs. When he realized that he cared more about the parody of The Music Man he wrote for his med school talent show than passing his medical boards, he knew something had to give. After delivering babies for a few years, he flipped his career to consulting in health IT to make more room for writing, eventually penning five screenplays and fourish musicals (depending on how you count). He is devoting a larger share of his time to creative pursuits like Miss Rainsong. He also claims to be the World's Leading Medical Informatimusicologist as President and Founder of The American College of Medical Informatimusicology (ACMImimi). About the Venue

For nearly 20 years, the Morgan Arts Council was a gypsy organization, "getting art out there" wherever there was space. That changed in June 1996 when U.S. Borax gifted MAC with a 40,000 square foot former storage building in the center of Berkeley Springs. Read more at www.macicehouse.org.
